As Pat reported below, the Supreme Court released its decision today in D.C. v. Heller--the first time since before World War Two that the High Court bothered to say anything about the much-maligned, often misunderstood Second Amendment.
SCOTUSblog has a basic summary of the decision. The opinions, written by Associate Justices Antonin Scalia (majority), John Paul Stevens (dissent), and Stephen Breyer (dissent) can be read here.

I actually spend some time reading over Justice Scalia's opinion and I have to say he does a really good job of disecting the second ammendment and gives a strong argument in favor of individual gun ownership. If anyone has the time, I strongly recommend reading it.

The Patriot accepts anonymous comments [unlike the draconian editors at the Hatchet]. However, we strongly prefer that you USE A NAME. Mostly it's because we don't take anonymous comments seriously, but it's also because we hate bullshit. Have a nice day.
